Formerly known as Philanthropic (Phil) Funds, Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) are philanthropic vehicles that offer a convenient, tax-advantaged way to support charitable organizations. By opening a DAF with the Jewish Federation, donors can easily manage their charitable giving, whether they are supporting Jewish community organizations or any registered non-profit. In doing so, they are also supporting the greater Jewish community which benefits from any fees.
PA staff collaborate with donors to establish DAFs at the Federation and often serve as philanthropic advisors for gifts both within and beyond the Jewish community. With over 600 active funds, DAFs are a rapidly growing segment of our business model, providing not only critical donor stewardship but also valuable revenue that supports the Federation’s operating budget.
