Community Development and Campaign

The Jewish Federation of Detroit’s Community Development departments—including Women’s Philanthropy, NEXTGen Detroit, Affinities, Leadership Development, and Israel & Overseas—play a vital role in advancing Federation’s mission and driving the success of the Annual Campaign.

These departments are fundamentally engagement programs designed to connect Jewish individuals across ages, backgrounds, and interests to the work of the Federation. Through dynamic events, meaningful volunteer opportunities, leadership training, and immersive experiences, they invite people into deeper relationship with Jewish life, community, and purpose.

This engagement is more than participation—it is a powerful engine for philanthropy, volunteerism, and leadership. By forging personal connections and shared commitments, our Community Development initiatives inspire individuals to give, to serve, and to lead. They help people see themselves as stakeholders in the Jewish future—and in doing so, they strengthen the Annual Campaign.
